Best Heated Jacket (2026): ORORO and DEWALT for Outdoor Work

A heated jacket earns its keep when you're standing or riding more than you're moving: plowing from an open ATV or UTV, feeding stock, watching a burn pile, waiting on a generator during an outage or standing around a job site. It blocks wind on your arms and puts heat in your chest and back.

All three have three heat settings, and the DEWALT adds a preheat mode. Run times are the makers' full-charge figures and drop in deep cold.

Best Heated Jacket: ORORO Classic Heated Jacket

ORORO's softshell (style MJC-31) heats the left chest, right chest and mid-back with carbon-fiber elements. Its 7.4V 4,800 mAh pack is rated at 3 hours on high, 6 on medium and 10 on low, charges over USB-C and has a USB port for your phone. The shell is polyester and spandex with a water-resistant treatment. ORORO calls it water- and wind-resistant, not waterproof.

It's machine washable in cold water in a mesh bag, battery out, then line dried. ORORO lists a 3-year limited warranty on the heating elements and 1 year on the battery. It was sold by ORORO's store and shipped by Amazon when we checked.

Best for DEWALT Battery Owners: DEWALT DCHJ067B Heated Hoodie

This comes as the hoodie and a battery adapter, with no battery or charger. It runs on the DEWALT 20V MAX packs you already use in your tools, and it also takes 12V MAX packs. DEWALT lists three heat zones (left chest, right chest and mid-back), three settings plus a preheat mode, and up to 7 hours on low with a compact 1.5Ah pack. The battery pocket expands for larger XR packs. DEWALT doesn't publish run times for bigger packs, but a 5Ah pack holds over three times the energy of a 1.5Ah one, so expect much longer on the same setting. The included DCB091 adapter adds two USB ports.

The shell is a wind-resistant cotton-polyester blend, so it's a work layer, not a rain jacket. Warranty is 1 year. It was sold by Amazon.com when we checked.

Heated Mid-Layer: ORORO Heated Fleece Jacket

This is a full-zip fleece with four heating zones, including a heated collar, and an ORORO battery included. The listing rates it at 3 hours on high, 4 to 5 on medium and 8 on low. A fleece isn't wind- or rain-proof, so it's built to go under a shell or work coat. It was sold by ORORO's store and shipped by Amazon when we checked.

Which Battery Should Power Your Jacket?

Both ORORO jackets ship with ORORO's pocket-sized 7.4V battery. The Classic's 4,800 mAh pack stores 35.4 Wh and tops up over USB-C. The DEWALT hoodie instead borrows whatever 20V MAX or 12V MAX pack is on your shelf. Owners of DEWALT cordless tools skip buying a second battery ecosystem, and anyone else gets a complete kit from ORORO. Packs aren't interchangeable between the brands.

What About Milwaukee?

Plenty of tradesmen swear by Milwaukee's M12 ToughShell and AXIS heated jackets. On Amazon, though, our October check turned up only outside resellers, with no listing sold by Amazon or Milwaukee itself. M12 owners are better served by an authorized Milwaukee dealer.
